I LOVE DOOM 3!!! I played it at my uncle's house, and now I'm completely obsessed with it (I'm not a gamefreak, so this is saying a lot!)
This one is also in Kia's sketchamabook, so she sent it to me, because even I think it's good! (that's also saying a lot!) I decided to draw me, wearing my battle armour, cutting a piece out of one of those big bastards who freak the shit out of me when I encounter them in dark hallways... DIE, BITCH! DIE! The armour is actually my own creation specifically for myself. It only covers certain parts of the body, those that which are broad and are easy surface-area for an attack; it makes it easier to execute complex maneuvres. There is actually chain-mail hanging from the instep of the breastplate (at the sternum) and it hangs down past my groin. For some reason, the big fighter types have never appealed to me- I have always prefered the mage types. Magic is cool! But we do need you fighter types to take all the hits we can't and keep us alive
Melee was just an honest screw-up! ^_^
And hey! Before you go bashing us "dumb muscles," I was just at a mini Karate tournament last night: 1st place in Kata (forms) and 2nd in Kumite (free-sparring)!!!
Us fighter types are well rounded: we learn as much magick as we need, so, if for some reason, an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) shockwave was rattled through the battlefield and all magick ability was dampened, we're still good to go!

AND, I was never bashing the muscles, or calling them dumb. Remember, I said we need you guys to take the hits and keep us alive! Mages tend to die if left alone, powerful offensively as they may be.
And it depends on who you're talking about- or what context- I'm used to fighters learning NO magic, because they can't. But that depends
And why would an electromagnetic pulse stop magic? Wouldn't be very magical if it was stopped so easily. I've never heard of an EMP stopping magic, I don't think it would.

Besides... at our current technology, it would take an EMP generator the size of WalMart to emit a shockwave the area of a football field. I think it's slightly viable that an EMP shockwave could be powerful enough to suppress some types of magick. No lightning bolts, no mindlink-communication, no radio, no vibrators...
