When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.

An idea that popped into my head at work, one day, while I was working on a pneumatic cylinder (like a hydraulic ram but with air instead of fluid).
In the future, when new leaders of countries, worldwide, realize that the cancer of unforgivable crime cannot be healed with treatment, new methods of cutting it out are invented. As humanity's hunger for blood grows along with its desire to improve its society, these methods become more and more grotesque and macabre. Like the public hangings and beheadings of criminals and offenders in pre-20th-century eras, the townspeople gather to witness the cleansing of their population; and, in doing so, relieve the natural human desire for destruction and carnage by being showered in the blood of those they despise. The young and old are present, brandishing umbrellas so that their evening-wear remains unsoiled. This is the new Church of the people; the new congregation of faith in that the human species may redeem itself, not to God, not to the Creator, not even to Mother Earth, but to itself. As you view this, I'm working on Photoshopping it, and may be finished by this evening (I hope). I went for the fish-eye lens effect on this and really like how it came out. I'm also quite satisfied with the executionee's face, as this is probably the first human face I've ever drawn without reference. For now, enjoy! Comments
Not only fish-eye lens but worms eye view as well, nice. I like how you're pushing your POVs and trying to increase the learning curve. Most people tend to shy away from these more difficult shots, but I like how you jump right into them. ^_^
As for a little constructive crit., I'd say that a few of the straight forms need to be bent slightly in the opposite direction to apply to the fish-eye curve (mostly just a couple of the bars and hard edges). But over all, I have to say it was wonderfully executed (yes lame puns come free of charge XD) can't wait to see what you do with it in PS. -- That perspective is an insta-orgasm. SERIOUSLY. The perspective and concept are amazingly badass and Im not just saying that because Im your friend. Its nice to see you drawing humans too ^^ I love it
-- "It is time for me to live up to my family name and face full life consequences!" - John Freeman Nice work on the perspective. I'm sure if you work around pneumatics enough, you think of some pretty interesting uses for them
-- A dragon, in spirit. [link] - Livejournal I've sadly yet to hear of any execution or torture method so appalling that it'll prevent some fuckers from taking lives. But for all the cowardly politicians of the day, I think it'll do great.
